The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Full of power, well-established in position with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
