Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Quran). 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
