۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Then, are we not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
