Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All praise unto Allah whose is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; and His is the praise in the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Aware. 1 He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein. And He is the Merciful, the Forgiving. 2 And the disbelievers said, “The Last Day will never come upon us”; proclaim, “Surely yes, why not? By oath of my Lord, it will surely come upon you – the All Knowing of the hidden; nothing is hidden from Him – equal to an atom or less than it or greater – in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear Book.” 3 in order that He recompenses those who believe and do good works; theirs shall be forgiveness and a generous provision. 4 But those who strive against Our signs, trying to defeat them, will suffer a painful torment. 5 And those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, and it guides to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy. 6 As against this, they who are bent on denying the truth say [unto all who are of like mind]: "Shall we point out to you a man who will tell you that [after your death,] when you will have been scattered in countless fragments, you shall - lo and behold! - be [restored to life] in a new act of creation? 7 Does he [knowingly] attribute his own lying inventions to God - or is he a madman?" Nay, [there is no madness in this Prophet] but they who will not believe in the life to come are [bound to lose themselves] in suffering and in a profound aberration. 8 Then, do they not look at what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and earth? If We should will, We could cause the earth to swallow them or [could] let fall upon them fragments from the sky. Indeed in that is a sign for every servant turning back [to Allah]. 9
