Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ People, have fear of your Lord; the quake (of the physical realm) at the Hour of Doom will be terribly violent. 1 On the day when you shall see it, every woman giving suck shall quit in confusion what she suckled, and every pregnant woman shall lay down her burden, and you shall see men intoxicated, and they shall not be intoxicated but the chastisement of Allah will be severe. 2 And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion! 3 it has been decreed concerning anyone whom he befriends, that he shall mislead him and guide him to the punishment of the Fire. 4 O people! if you are in doubt about the raising, then surely We created you from dust, then from a small seed, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh, complete in make and incomplete, that We may make clear to you; and We cause what We please to stay in the wombs till an appointed time, then We bring you forth as babies, then that you may attain your maturity; and of you is he who is caused to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; and you see the earth sterile land, but when We send down on it the water, it stirs and swells and brings forth of every kind a beautiful herbage. 5 This is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He has power over all things 6 The Hour will come without a doubt, and God will raise those who are dead. 7 And among mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah without knowledge or guidance or a scripture giving light, 8 Bending his neck, that he may lead astray from the way of Allah; his shall be humiliation in the world, and We shall make him taste on the Day of Judgment the torment of burning. 9 (It will be said): "This is because of the deeds which thy hands sent forth, for verily Allah is not unjust to His servants. 10
