۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities (to mobilise troops) 53 (Saying): "These (Israelites) are but a small band, 54 And verily they have enraged us. 55 we are a large and watchful force." 56 So We made them leave the gardens and springs of water, 57 and treasures and a noble station; 58 Even so. And We caused the Children of Isra'il to inherit them. 59 At sunrise they set off in pursuit of them 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 [Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me." 62 Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 And We saved Musa and those with him, all of them. 65 Then drowned the others. 66 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 67 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 68
