Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets laid out, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
