Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 separating one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
