The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 For a mighty day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
