The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
