Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 7 But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
