The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 On a mighty Day. 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
