Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble scribes 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what do you know of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
