ARE, THEN, they who are bent on denying the truth not aware that the heavens and the earth were [once] one single entity, which We then parted asunder? and [that] We made out of water every living thing? Will they not, then, [begin to] believe? 30 And We placed firm mountains on earth lest it should sway with them, and We made wide paths in them that they may find their way; 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space! 33 AND [remind those who deny thee, O Prophet, that] never have We granted life everlasting to any mortal before thee: but do they, perchance, hope that although thou must die, they will live forever?" 34 Every living being shall taste death and We shall subject you to ill and good by way of trial, and to Us shall all of you be eventually sent back. 35 And when those who disbelieve behold thee, they but choose thee out for mockery, (saying): Is this he who maketh mention of your gods? And they would deny all mention of the Beneficent. 36 Man is made of inordinate haste. We will show you Our signs, then you will not desire to hasten (the punishment). 37 And they say: "When will this promise (come to pass), if you are truthful." 38 If only the unbelievers knew of the Hour when they shall not be able to keep off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; nor shall they be helped. 39 In fact it will suddenly come upon them, therefore shocking them, and they will not be able to repel it nor will they be given respite. 40 They mocked the Messengers who were sent before you; thus, the torment which they had ridiculed encompassed them all. 41
