Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
