Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty garden, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
