Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
