The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 So made them as maidens. 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right. 38
