The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
