Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive you your sins, and will defer you to an appointed term. Verily the term of Allah when it cometh shall not be deferred, if ye but knew. 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
