The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 He bethinketh that his wealth shall abide for him. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 What shall let you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 In columns outstretched. 9
