And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
