By no means! By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
