The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
