Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
