Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
