The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
