Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
