The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 He said: 'My Lord has knowledge of what is said in the heavens and on earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower' 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 Not one city that We destroyed before them believed; what then, will they not believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. 9 Now We have sent down to you a Book wherein is your Remembrance; will you not understand? 10
