And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
