Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
