The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
