Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
