The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 and a Book inscribed 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 by the Visited House, 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe, then, on that Day to those who give the lie (to this Message) 11 That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
