The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
