The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
