Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 as black camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
