۞ Such as fear not the meeting with Us (for Judgment) say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or (why) do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they have an arrogant conceit of themselves, and mighty is the insolence of their impiety! 21 The day they see the angels there will be no happy tidings for the sinners; and they will say: "There is an insurmountable barrier!" 22 And We shall turn unto the work they did and make it scattered motes. 23 The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place. 24 The Day the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and angels shall be sent down, descending (in ranks),- 25 True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day. 26 and a Day on which the evildoer will bite his hands [in despair,] exclaiming: "Oh, would that I had followed the path shown to me by the apostle! 27 "Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! 28 He indeed led me astray from the Remembrance, after it had come to me; Satan is ever a forsaker of men.' 29 The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," 30 For so it is that against every prophet We have set up enemies from among those who are lost in sin: yet none can guide and give succour as thy Sustainer does! 31 The unbelievers say, 'Why has the Koran not been sent down upon him all at once?' Even so, that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have chanted it very distinctly. 32 And they come not unto thee with a similitude but We bring thee the truth and an excellent interpretation. 33 Those who will be dragged on their faces towards hell – theirs is the worst destination and they are the most astray. 34
