The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
