Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
59 verses, revealed in Mecca after Vanity (Al-Zukhruf) before Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 The perspicuous Book is witness 2 surely We sent it down on a blessed night, We have always sent warnings, 3 Whereon every wise command is made clear 4 at a behest from Ourselves: for, verily, We have always been sending [Our messages of guidance] 5 A mercy from thy Lord. Lo! He, even He is the Hearer, the Knower, 6 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them - if you could but grasp it with inner certainty! 7 There is no god other than He, who gives you life and death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 8 yet, they toy with their doubts. 9 Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible, 10 That shall overtake men; this is a painful punishment. 11 Our Lord! remove from us the torment, verily we shall become believers. 12 How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,- 13 Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad SAW) and said: "One (Muhammad SAW) taught (by a human being), a madman!" 14 We shall remove the torment for a while but you will revert to your old ways. 15 One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution! 16 ۞ And verily We tried before them Pharaoh's folk, when there came unto them a noble messenger, 17 "Send the servants of God with me. I am a trustworthy Messenger sent to you. 18 "And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest. 19 and, behold, it is with my Sustainer - and your Sustainer - that I seek refuge against all your endeavours to revile me. 20 “And if you do not believe in me, then have no relation with me.” 21 And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people. 22 'Then set thou forth with My servants in a watch of the night; surely you will be followed. 23 And leave the sea intervening; surely they are a host that shall be drowned. 24 How many gardens and water-springs they left behind! 25 corn-fields, gracious mansions, 26 and other bounties which they enjoyed yet left behind! 27 Such was their end, and what had been theirs We gave to other people to inherit. 28 So the heavens and the earth did not weep for them, and they were not given respite. 29

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
