Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
