The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
