The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
