Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
