۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Are we then not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
