And (remember) Noah, when he supplicated to Us, We answered him, and We saved him and his nation from great distress, 76 and We helped him against a people who rejected Our signs as false. They were indeed an evil people and so We drowned them all. 77 And remember Dawud and Sulaiman, when they were deciding the dispute of a field, when some people’s sheep had strayed into it at night; and We were Present at the time of their deciding. 78 We made Solomon understand the case, and bestowed on each wisdom and knowledge, We subdued the al-jibal (mountains) with David to sing Our praises, and at-tair (birds). It is We who did it. 79 And We taught him the fashioning of garments for you, to fortify you against your violence; then are you thankful? 80 And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing. 81 and of the Satans some dived for him and did other work besides; and We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And Job when he called to his Lord: 'Affliction has befallen me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful' 83 whereupon We responded unto him and removed all the affliction from which he suffered; and We gave him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who worship Us. 84 And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience; 85 We encompassed them in Our mercy; they were righteous people. 86 And Zun-nun! recall what time he departed in anger and imagined that We could not straiten him, then he cried in the darknesses, that: there is no god but Thou! hallowed be Thou! verily I have been of the wrong-doers. 87 So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith. 88 And We bestowed favour upon Zechariah, when he cried to his Lord: "Lord! Leave me not solitary (without any issue). You are the Best Inheritor." 89 So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive. 90 And (remember) she who guarded her chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or garment) [through Our Ruh - Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son ['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns). 91 Verily, this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore serve Me (and no other). 92 And they have broken their religion (into fragments) among them, (yet) all are returning unto Us. 93
