Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
