The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 and purify your robes, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
