The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
