The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
